Ogre stories remember the people who made room. In frontier settlements, one pair of enormous hands could raise a roof, move a fallen tree or stand between a caravan and a threat. Outsiders often remembered only the threat an ogre could pose, overlooking the ordinary labor that kept a community alive.
Ogres answer that narrow reputation in their own ways. Some cultivate gentleness, some theatrical menace, and some have no interest in explaining themselves. An ogre champion’s size is immediately visible; their judgment takes longer to discover. The arena offers a chance to make an impression that belongs to them.
