Merfolk
The currents carry names
Aquatic peoples whose bodies and cultures are shaped by water.
Merfolk archives travel in currents, songs and patterns of shells. Their communities understand routes that landbound maps cannot describe: seasonal passages, deep refuges and boundaries that move with the water. The crossings created new opportunities for exchange, but also new responsibilities toward waters easily damaged by careless visitors.
Some merfolk remain devoted to home currents; others become envoys between shores, salvagers or adventurous exiles. Arena champions carry that experience of changing pressure and uncertain footing into a new setting. Their stories concern belonging across boundaries, and the effort required to keep a connection alive.

Merfolk describes a race, not a combat restriction. Race does not grant an automatic combat bonus or passive ability. Resistances and weaknesses belong to each hero’s individual combat profile.
