Stoneborn

The slow work of becoming

Living stone peoples, including gargoyles and mineral lineages.

Stoneborn histories are often written into the body: weathered edges, repaired fractures, mineral seams and surfaces polished by care. Gargoyles and other living stone lineages remember the difference between being treated as a monument and being recognized as a neighbor. The crossings offered new places where an old sentinel could become a traveler.

Their communities value many kinds of patience, but no stoneborn is obliged to be solemn or still. Champions may be exuberant artists, exacting guardians or restless explorers. The arena lets them demonstrate that solidity is not stagnation. Even something that appears permanent can decide to change.

Ancestry is a beginning.

Stoneborn describes a race, not a combat restriction. Race does not grant an automatic combat bonus or passive ability. Resistances and weaknesses belong to each hero’s individual combat profile. The heroes below have their own lineages and classes. Their individual profiles tell the stories that make them distinct.
