Beings sustained beyond mortal life, including revenants, skeletons and vampires.
Undead lives begin again beyond an ending others considered absolute. A revenant may carry an oath; a skeleton, a stubborn curiosity; a vampire, centuries of difficult appetite. Their communities develop customs for remembering without becoming prisoners of remembrance, and for negotiating coexistence with people who still fear the grave.
No single motive unites these continued lives. Some champions seek restoration, some justice, and some the freedom to stop explaining their existence. In the arena, the past accompanies them without deciding every move. A story can survive its expected ending and still discover something worth becoming.
